Short answer: after the 2025 Maha Kumbh at Prayagraj, the next Kumbh Mela is the Simhastha Kumbh at Nashik-Trimbakeshwar, which runs from 31 October 2026 to 24 July 2028, with the main bathing days in 2027. This guide explains where the Kumbh will be held in 2027 and 2028 and how the four Kumbh cities fit together.
The Four Kumbh Cities
The Kumbh Mela rotates among four holy places in India: Haridwar, Prayagraj, Nashik and Ujjain. Each city hosts the full Kumbh about once in twelve years, and Haridwar and Prayagraj also hold an Ardh (half) Kumbh in between.
Kumbh Mela 2027: Nashik-Trimbakeshwar
The Nashik Kumbh is called the Simhastha Kumbh. It is held on the Godavari at Ramkund in Nashik and at Kushavarta Kund in Trimbakeshwar (see our Trimbakeshwar guide). The previous Nashik Kumbh took place in 2015. The main Amrit Snan dates are 2 August, 31 August, 11 September (Nashik) and 12 September 2027 (Trimbakeshwar). See the full Kumbh schedule.
